The 2009 Nanticoke Powwow was held on September 12th and 13th in Millsboro, DE.

With great weather and a good turnout which included Governor Jack Markell.

The history of the powwow passes from generation to generation when people gather yearly for a celebration of culture. Skilled Native American artisans, who have created their wares all year long, travel to various powwows across America to sell or trade. It is a welcome opportunity to visit with friends and relatives, renew acquaintances, and trade or sell Native arts and crafts, including jewelry, pottery, moccasins, ribbon shirts, shawls, dream catchers, and paintings. Most importantly, it is a time to preserve traditions, to sing to the Creator, and to dance to the heart beat of the drum.
